Check Parma ZIP Code Geography

A Parma ZIP code directory has a limited but useful job: it helps verify how an exact mailing address is labeled for postal service. It cannot identify a household, settle a city-line question, or replace a county parcel record. Use the full street address for the postal check, then keep that answer separate from property, election, and court geography. For an older address, preserve the source year and the street spelling too. Postal labels can change while a parcel’s legal description remains the stronger link across records.

Parma Postal Coverage: Verified ZIP Codes

Only three ZIP Codes are directly supported by the local sources collected for Parma. They are evidence from official addresses, not a source-verified map of the city. No City, County, or browser-accessible USPS result in the research supplied a complete citywide boundary table. The careful answer is therefore to show the verified examples and use USPS for each exact address rather than filling a broad list from a generic map.

ZIPAreas CoveredPost OfficeNotes
44129City Hall address only, not a verified coverage areaNo station name verified; official City Hall address uses Parma, OHCity Hall is at 6611 Ridge Road

44134City office address only, not a verified coverage areaNo station name verified; official city office uses Parma labelEconomic Development and Community Services is at 5517 State Road

Those examples do not establish that every Parma address uses one of these labels, nor do they establish a boundary between them. USPS says a ZIP result does not confirm that a person or organization is at an address. Postal service geography is not a residents directory.

Verify a Parma ZIP Code With USPS

USPS ZIP Lookup is the official tool for a mailing question. Use its exact-address route when the street address is known. Its City and State route can return ZIP Codes for a city label, but the research did not preserve an interactive Parma result that proves the boundary of each one. Treat a mailed address result as a postal verification, not evidence of occupancy, ownership, or city jurisdiction.

  1. Enter the complete delivery address in USPS ZIP Lookup and preserve the returned postal label with the date checked.
  2. For a property question, move to the county parcel record using the street address or parcel number.
  3. Compare the situs address, tax mailing address, and legal description rather than assuming the postal answer controls each one.
  4. When an address lies near an edge or has an older street form, ask the appropriate county custodian for the parcel or map record.

Note: USPS verifies a mailing address, while the parcel record identifies land in the county record chain.

Parma ZIP Code Directory Limits

A ZIP Code is a postal routing geography, not a municipal boundary and not a statement about who is at an address. A Parma postal label can extend beyond the city boundary, and a city address can have a label that does not match the city name someone expects. The research documents that city wards and county precincts use political boundaries, while parcel and legal descriptions serve a separate county purpose. These systems overlap without becoming the same system.

Do not convert a ZIP match into a resident claim. The Postal Service itself cautions against that inference. The County’s MyPlace portal, Recorder index, and the voter website also ask different questions. A valid result from one can be useful, but it should stay within the scope of that record. If the public search does not answer a legitimate question, request the existing record from its custodian rather than inferring a result from a nearby ZIP.

Boundary caution. The collected research has no official complete Parma ZIP-boundary list, realignment date, or verified PO-box or unique-ZIP entry. Use only an exact USPS result for a mailing question.

Search Parma Records Beyond ZIP Code

The documented property and records tools do not offer a ZIP-wide Parma people search. Cuyahoga MyPlace uses City plus Owner, Parcel, or Address modes. Its observed controls do not include ZIP. The Recorder indexes parties, documents, parcels, dates, and OCR modes, not ZIP. Parma’s Citizenserve applications are address-based, and the research did not locate a public historic-results search. These are property or record routes, not postal-list routes.

Ohio My Voter Information has no ZIP field. It requires first name, last name, and county, with a possible street-name narrowing step after an initial individual search. The state’s daily voter snapshot route has county selection, not a ZIP search described in the research. Once a postal check narrows a question to a particular street, the Parma street directory covers the address-keyed records trail.

For a broad geography request, the research directs a reader to ask the Fiscal Officer what export or filter is currently available. It does not support promising one. State the exact record, date range, address or parcel clue, desired format, and why that limited scope is needed. A request that starts with a parcel or defined address is more precise than a ZIP-wide claim.

Parma Parcels Anchor Geography

A Cuyahoga permanent parcel number follows the format 000-00-000. Its first three digits identify the book, the next two identify the map page, and the final three identify the map circle. That number is a county map reference, not a postal code. It is the stronger bridge between MyPlace, tax records, transfer history, Recorder documents, and County Archives material.

A situs address is the physical parcel location used in property searching. A tax mailing address is where the taxpayer receives the bill. A legal description identifies the land through a subdivision, lot, block, or original lot. Start a difficult location question with the exact address, then the parcel, then the legal description. The Parcel Map Room can help with a parcel or former ownership question, and its research guidance describes roughly 40 to 50 years of prior-owner help.

When an address appears under a different postal or municipal label, do not discard the parcel match. Preserve both labels, then compare the legal description with the deed or map. A parcel remains the continuity key even when the street wording, municipal history, or ZIP label changes.

Parma Postal, Ward, and Parcel Geography

Parma’s record geography has three layers. A parcel and legal description follow land through the county system. Wards and precincts follow civic boundaries. USPS ZIPs follow delivery routing. The city’s nine wards and the county precinct map do not create ZIP lines. This difference matters in the city’s Ukrainian Village and Polish Village corridors too: a cultural or civic area can be useful map context without defining a postal area or identifying a household.

For a question about an address on a city edge, preserve each label separately. Keep the USPS result for mailing, the MyPlace situs and parcel for property, and the ward or precinct only for its civic purpose. That small record log prevents one geography from being substituted for another.

Historic Parma Address Variants

Older Parma work needs more than a current postal label. State Road was partly known as West 35th Street in the early 1900s and became State Route 94 in 1957. Parma Heights separated from Parma Township in 1911, while Parma became a village in 1924 and a city in 1931. A record may therefore use a township, village, city, county, or metropolitan postal description that does not match a modern address form.

For historical property work, record the source year, street alias, municipality label, lot or parcel clue, and legal description. County Archives maps, tax records, and appraisal cards use parcel, lot, address, owner, and map evidence rather than a modern postal ZIP. A street spelling that seems wrong may be a period form, not a failed search.

The County Archives has original map volumes from about 1860 to 1945, tax records from about 1819 to 1986, and appraisal cards from about 1935 to 1970. Historical property research requires an appointment. A scoped email or mail request can name the address, parcel, date, or volume clue when an in-person appointment is not practical. These sources can explain the place history, but they do not make a current postal label retroactive.

ZIP Code Boundaries at Parma Limits

Use a current USPS result for an exact mailing question and a county parcel record for a situs question. Neither source should be stretched into a citywide ZIP map when the evidence does not support it. The research also does not identify a single city E911 authority, a complete readdressing history, or a verified ZIP realignment year. Those gaps are reasons to keep the answer narrow.

ZIP and ZIP+4
A ZIP identifies a postal area. ZIP+4 adds a more specific delivery segment within that routing system.
PO-box ZIP
A postal label used for post-office boxes rather than a general street-delivery area.
Unique ZIP
A ZIP assigned to one organization or institution when USPS establishes that arrangement.
Carrier route
A delivery route used by postal operations, not a boundary for local government records.

Postal information can support a careful mailing check. It cannot prove occupancy, household composition, ownership, or city jurisdiction. Use the smallest record scope that answers the real question. For a court matter, use the proper court jurisdiction and case details. For an election question, use the required county and name fields. Neither workflow becomes a ZIP search simply because the address has a postal label.
